Ashamed Version 6 by negmass Ashamed Version 6 by negmass
This particular piece was intended for a poetry local publication, but I decided in the end to submit another piece. I was intending to convey a sense of withdrawal from shame, and a feeling of being trapped. The nature of the reference photo lent itself well to an attempt at German Expressionist style. I tried to keep most of the “cuts” loose to add to the raw energy and drama of the piece. Since the compositional elements were taken care of by a shrewd stock photographer, I was able to concentrate of lines as composition. Let me know what you think, this is personally of my own all time favorites, it is one of the rare times that I can say that I am happy with the total outcome of a piece.

Many, many thanks.

I think I like this one out of the others.
I would have to say for me these colors bring out the mood of the picture wonderfully.
This is a very emotional peice. Nice job.

It looks to me like the person in the picture has been crying for several hours, and then the person that made them cry walked into the room... This piece is very emotional, you should be proud of it.

I admire the cross hatching...the destorted back around that seems to echo this person's mood. His/Her/It's glarring eyes seem so 'evil eye' like. It's quite affective.
